Al-Adab Al-Mufrad #533

Visiting the Ill

The Arabic includes the chain of narration (sanad) and the collector's commentary; the English translation shows the Prophet's words only.

'Abdullah ibn Abi'l-Hudhayl said, "'Abdullah ibn Mas'ud went to visit a sick person with some other people. There was a woman in the room and one of the men began to look at her, 'Abdullah said to him, 'It would have been better for you if your eyes had been gouged out.'"
