Al-Adab Al-Mufrad #729
Supplication
The Arabic includes the chain of narration (sanad) and the collector's commentary; the English translation shows the Prophet's words only.
Anas (ra) said that a man made this supplication in the presence of the Prophet (ﷺ) "O Allah, you have not bestowed upon me wealth so I cannot give Sadaqah, hence involve me in anxiety so that I may earn reward against that. The prophet said," Subhan Allah! You cannot endure difficulty. Why did you not make this supplication?: (O Allah, let us have the good of this world and the good of the hereafter and save us from the torment of the fire).
