Bulugh al-Maram #1293

Narrated Umm Salamah (RA): I put Sabir (a type of medicine) on my eyes after Abu Salamah (RA) had died. So Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) said: "It gives the face a glow, so apply it only at night and remove it in the day time, and do not comb (your hair) with scent or henna, for it is a dye." I asked, "What should I use when combing (my hair)?" He replied, "You should use lote-tree leaves." .
