Crimes (Qisas or Retaliation)
The Arabic includes the chain of narration (sanad) and the collector's commentary; the English translation shows the Prophet's words only.
وَأَصْلُهُ فِي
"اَلصَّحِيحَيْنِ" مِنْ حَدِيثِ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ بِمَعْنَاهُ 11 - رواه البخاري (6880)، ومسلم (1355) عن أبي هريرة من حديث طويل، وفيه: "ومن قتل له قتيل، فهو بخير النظرين؛ إما أن يودى، وإما أن يقاد" لفظ البخاري. ولفظ مسلم: "إما أن يفدى، وإما أن يقتل".
A similar narration is transmitted by Al-Bukhari and Muslim on the authority of Abu Hurairah.
