The Book of Purification
The Arabic includes the chain of narration (sanad) and the collector's commentary; the English translation shows the Prophet's words only.
وَعَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ رَضِيَ الْلَّهُ عَنْهُمَا قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ الْلَّهِ - صلى الله عليه وسلم -{ إِذَا دُبِغَ الْإِهَابُ فَقَدْ طَهُرَ } أَخْرَجَهُ مُسْلِمٌ 1 . وَعِنْدَ الْأَرْبَعَةِ: { أَيُّمَا إِهَابٍ دُبِغَ } 2 .1 - صحيح. رواه مسلم (366).2 - رواه النسائي (773)، والترمذي (1728)، وابن ماجه (3609) عن ابن عباس أيضا، وهو صحيح كسابقه. "تنبيه": وهم الحافظ رحمه الله في قوله: "وعند الأربعة" وذلك لأن أبا داود لم يروا الحديث بهذا اللفظ، وإنما لفظه كلفظ مسلم.
Narrated Ibn ‘Abbas: Narrated (rad):
Allah’s Messenger (ﷺ) said: "When the skin is tanned it becomes purified.” . Al-Arba’a have the words: "Any skin that is tanned ... "
