The Book of Purification

وَعَنْ أَبِي أُمَامَةَ اَلْبَاهِلِيِّ - رضى الله عنه - قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ - صلى الله عليه وسلم -{ إِنَّ اَلْمَاءَ لَا يُنَجِّسُهُ شَيْءٌ, إِلَّا مَا غَلَبَ عَلَى رِيحِهِ وَطَعْمِهِ, وَلَوْنِهِ } أَخْرَجَهُ اِبْنُ مَاجَهْ 1 وَضَعَّفَهُ أَبُو حَاتِمٍ 2 .1 - ضعيف. رواه ابن ماجه (521) من طريق رشدين بن سعد، حدثنا معاوية بن صالح، عن راشد بن سعد، عن أبي إمامة به. وهو ضعيف؛ لضعف رشدين، وقد اضطرب أيضا في إسناده.2 - نقله ولده في "العلل" (1 /44) فقال: "قال أبي يوصله رشدين بن سعد، يقول: عند أبي إمامة، عن النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم، ورشدين ليس بقوي، والصحيح مرسل".
Narrated Abu Umama Al-Bahili: Narrated Abu Umama Al-Bahili:
Allah’s Messenger (ﷺ) said: “Water cannot be rendered impure by anything except something which changes its smell, taste and colour”.
