The Book of Purification
The Arabic includes the chain of narration (sanad) and the collector's commentary; the English translation shows the Prophet's words only.
وَعَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ - رضى الله عنه - قَالَ: قَالَتْ خَوْلَةُ: { يَا رَسُولَ اَللَّهِ, فَإِنْ لَمْ يَذْهَبْ اَلدَّمُ? قَالَ:
"يَكْفِيكِ اَلْمَاءُ, وَلَا يَضُرُّكِ أَثَرُهُ" } أَخْرَجَهُ اَلتِّرْمِذِيُّ, وَسَنَدُهُ ضَعِيف ٌ 1 .1 - حسن. رواه أبو داود (365) وغيره. "تنبيه" عزو الحافظ الحديث للترمذي إنما هو من باب الوهم وإن تبعه على ذلك غيره. وأما تضعيفه لسند الحديث فلعلة غير قادحة.
Narrated Abu Huraira (rad): Khaula said, “O Messenger of Allah, suppose the (trace of) the blood does not go?” He said, “(Washing it with) water will suffice you and its trace won’t harm you”. .
