The Book of Prayer
The Arabic includes the chain of narration (sanad) and the collector's commentary; the English translation shows the Prophet's words only.
وَعَنْ مُعَاذِ بْنِ جَبَلٍ - رضى الله عنه - { أَنَّ رَسُولَ اَللَّهِ - صلى الله عليه وسلم -قَالَ لَهُ : " أُوصِيكَ يَا مُعَاذُ : لَا تَدَعَنَّ دُبُرَ كُلِّ صَلَاةٍ أَنْ تَقُولُ : اَللَّهُمَّ أَعِنِّي عَلَى ذِكْرِكَ وَشُكْرِكَ وَحُسْنِ عِبَادَتِكَ } رَوَاهُ أَحْمَدُ , وَأَبُو دَاوُدَ , وَالنَّسَائِيُّ بِسَنَدٍ قَوِيٍّ . 11 - صحيح . رواه أحمد ( 6 / 244 - 245 ) ، وأبو داود ( 1522 ) ، والنسائي ( 3 / 53 ) من طريق عقبة بن مسلم ، حدثني أبو عبد الرحمن الحبلي ، عن الصنابحي ، عن معاذ به . وعندهم قول النبي -صلى الله عليه وسلم- :لمعاذ : " يا معاذ والله إني لأحبك" وعند النسائي وأحمد : " وأنا أحبك يا رسول الله " وزاد أحمد : " بأبي أنت وأمي " . وعند أبي داود وأحمد عقيب الحديث : وأوصى بذلك معاذ الصنابحي ، وأوصى الصنابحي أبا عبد الرحمن . زاد أحمد : وأوصى أبو عبد الرحمن عقبة بن مسلم .
Narrated Mu'adh bin Jabal (RA) Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) told me, "O Mu'adh, I will give you some advice - Never leave the recitation of this supplication after every prayer: 'O Allah, help me to remember You, thank You, and worship You perfectly.'"
[Ahmad, Abu Dawud and an-Nasa'i reported it
through a strong chain of narrators].
Narrated by Narrated Mu'adh bin Jabal (RA) Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) told me, "O Mu'adh, I will give you some advice - Never leave the recitation of this supplication after every prayer:
