The Book of Prayer
The Arabic includes the chain of narration (sanad) and the collector's commentary; the English translation shows the Prophet's words only.
وَعَنْهُ قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اَللَّهِ - صلى الله عليه وسلم -{ مَنْ نَامَ عَنْ اَلْوِتْرِ أَوْ نَسِيَهُ فَلْيُصَلِّ إِذَا أَصْبَحَ أَوْ ذَكَرَ } رَوَاهُ اَلْخَمْسَةُ إِلَّا النَّسَائِيَّ . 1 .1 - صحيح. رواه أبو داود (1431)، والترمذي (465)، وابن ماجه (1188)، وأحمد (3/44) وأعل الحديث بما لا يقدح كما كنت بينت ذلك في "الناسخ والمنسوخ" لابن شاهين (215)، ثم زدت ذلك إيضاحا "بالأصل".
Narrated : Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) said: "Whoever oversleeps and misses the Witr, or forgets it, should pray (when he awakens) in the moming or when he remembers."
