Bulugh al-Maram #53
The Book of Purification
The Arabic includes the chain of narration (sanad) and the collector's commentary; the English translation shows the Prophet's words only.
وَعَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ - رضى الله عنه - قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اَللَّهِ - صلى الله عليه وسلم -{ إِذَا تَوَضَّأْتُمْ فابدأوا بِمَيَامِنِكُمْ } أَخْرَجَهُ اَلْأَرْبَعَةُ, وَصَحَّحَهُ اِبْنُ خُزَيْمَة َ 1 .1 - صحيح. رواه أبو داود (4141)، والترمذي (1766)، والنسائي في "الكبرى" (5 /482)، وابن ماجه (402)، وابن خزيمة (178) واللفظ لابن ماجه. وأما لفظ أبي داود، وابن خزيمة، فهو: "إذا لبستم، وإذا توضأتم فابدأوا بأيامنكم". وأما الترمذي والنسائي فلفظهما: كان إذا ليس قميصا بدأ بميامنه. ومن هذا يتضح لك خطأ الحافظ رحمه الله في عزوه الحديث لمخرجيه هكذا على الإطلاق.
Narrated Abu Huraira (rad): Allah’s Messenger (rad) said: “When you perform ablution, begin with your right limbs”. .
