The Book of Prayer

وَعَنِ ابْنِ بُرَيْدَةَ, عَنْ أَبِيهِ قَالَ: { كَانَ النَّبِيُّ - صلى الله عليه وسلم -لَا يَخْرُجُ يَوْمَ اَلْفِطْرِ حَتَّى يَطْعَمَ, وَلَا يَطْعَمُ يَوْمَ اَلْأَضْحَى حَتَّى يُصَلِّيَ } رَوَاهُ أَحْمَدُ, وَاَلتِّرْمِذِيُّ, وَصَحَّحَهُ ابْنُ حِبَّانَ 1 .1 - حسن. رواه أحمد (5/352)، والترمذي (542)، وابن حبان (2812) واللفظ للترمذي، وقوله عقبه: "حديث غريب" هو قول غريب. وقال الحاكم في "المستدرك" (1/294): "هذه سنة عزيزة من طريق الرواية، مستفيضة في بلاد المسلمين".
Narrated Ibn Buraidah on the authority of his father: Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) would not go out on the day of breaking of the fast till he had some food, and he would not to take any food on the day of sacrifice till he had prayed (the 'Eid prayer).
