The Book of Prayer
The Arabic includes the chain of narration (sanad) and the collector's commentary; the English translation shows the Prophet's words only.
وَفِي رِوَايَةٍ لِمُسْلِمٍ: { صَلَّى حِينَ كَسَفَتِ اَلشَّمْسُ ثَمَانَ رَكَعَاتٍ فِي أَرْبَعِ سَجَدَاتٍ } 1 .1 - ضعيف. رواه مسلم (908)، وسنده ضعيف وهي رواية شاذة أيضا. وفي رواية (909) لمسلم بنفس -السند- أي: ضعيفه أيضا - عن ابن عباس، عن النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم؛ أنه صلى في كسوف. قرأ ثم ركع. ثم قرأ ثم ركع. ثم قرأ ثم ركع. ثم قرأ ثم ركع . ثم سجد. قال: والأخرى مثلها. وضعف ابن حبان هذا الحديث في "صحيحه" (7/98).
In a narration of Muslim: "When there was an eclipse of the sun, Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) performed eight bowings with four prostrations (in a two Rak'ah prayer for Eclipse)".
