The Book of Zakah
The Arabic includes the chain of narration (sanad) and the collector's commentary; the English translation shows the Prophet's words only.
وَعَنْ سَمُرَةَ بْنِ جُنْدُبٍ - رضى الله عنه - قَالَ: { كَانَ رَسُولُ اَللَّهِ - صلى الله عليه وسلم -يَأْمُرُنَا; أَنْ نُخْرِجَ اَلصَّدَقَةَ مِنَ اَلَّذِي نَعُدُّهُ لِلْبَيْعِ. } رَوَاهُ أَبُو دَاوُدَ, وَإِسْنَادُهُ لَيِّن ٌ 1 .1 - ضعيف. رواه أبو داود ( 1562 ) بسند فيه ثلاثة مجاهيل، ولذلك كان قول الحافظ في "التلخيص" ( 2 / 179 ): "في إسناده جهالة " أدق من قوله هنا. وقال الذهبي: "هذا إسناد مظلم لا ينهض بحكم".
Samurah bin Jundub (RAA) narrated that The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) used to command us to pay Zakah from (the goods) we had prepared for sale. Related by Abu Dawud with a weak chain of narrators.
