The Book of Purification
The Arabic includes the chain of narration (sanad) and the collector's commentary; the English translation shows the Prophet's words only.
وَعَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ - رضى الله عنه - قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اَللَّهِ - صلى الله عليه وسلم -{ مَنْ غَسَّلَ مَيْتًا فَلْيَغْتَسِلْ, وَمَنْ حَمَلَهُ فَلْيَتَوَضَّأْ } أَخْرَجَهُ أَحْمَدُ, وَالنَّسَائِيُّ, وَاَلتِّرْمِذِيُّ وَحَسَّنَه ُ 1 .1 - صحيح. رواه أحمد رقم (7675)، والترمذي (993). والحديث قد أعله جماعة كالإمام أحمد كما نقل الحافظ ولكن طرق الحديث وشواهده الكثيرة لا تدع أدنى شك في تصحيحه، وانظر "الأصل" إن شئت معرفة ذلك. "تنبيه": وهم الحافظ عي عزوه للنسائي. والله أعلم .
Narrated Abu Huraira (rad): The Prophet (ﷺ) said: “Whoever washes a dead person should take a bath (thereafter); and whoever carries it should perform ablution”. Reported by Ahmad, An-Nasa’i and At-Tirmidhi who graded it Hasan (fair).
