Mishkat al-Masabih #1010
Prayer
The Arabic includes the chain of narration (sanad) and the collector's commentary; the English translation shows the Prophet's words only.
وَعَنْ جَابِرٍ قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: «لَا تُؤَخِّرُوا الصَّلَاةَ لِطَعَامٍ وَلَا لغيره» . رَوَاهُ فِي شرح السّنة
Jabir reported God’s Messenger as saying, “Do not postpone prayer because of food or any other reason.”
transmitted it in Sharh as-sunna.
