Mishkat al-Masabih #1699
Zakat
The Arabic includes the chain of narration (sanad) and the collector's commentary; the English translation shows the Prophet's words only.
وَعَن رَافع بن خديح قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: «الْعَامِلُ عَلَى الصَّدَقَةِ بِالْحَقِّ كَالْغَازِي فِي سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ حَتَّى يَرْجِعَ إِلَى بَيْتِهِ» . رَوَاهُ أَبُو دَاوُد وَالتِّرْمِذِيّ
Rafi‘ b. Khadij reported God’s messenger as saying,
“The official who collects sadaqa in a just manner is like him who fights in God’s path till he returns home."
Abu Dawud and Tirmidhi transmitted it.
