Mishkat al-Masabih #377
Purification
The Arabic includes the chain of narration (sanad) and the collector's commentary; the English translation shows the Prophet's words only.
وَعَنْ عُثْمَانَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ: أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ كَانَ يُخَلِّلُ لِحْيَتَهُ. رَوَاهُ التِّرْمِذِيّ والدارمي
‘Uthman said that the Prophet used to make the water go through his beard.
Tirmidhi and Darimi transmitted it.
