Game and Animals Which May Be Slaughtered

وَعَنْ جَابِرٍ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ نَهَى عَنْ أَكْلِ الْهِرَّةِ وَأَكْلِ ثَمَنِهَا. رَوَاهُ أَبُو دَاوُدَ وَالتِّرْمِذِيُّ
Jabir said the Prophet forbade eating cats or what is paid for them. 1
1. This might be either what was paid in kind, or what was bought with money paid for them.
Abu Dawud and Tirmidhi transmitted it.
