Mishkat al-Masabih #468
Purification
The Arabic includes the chain of narration (sanad) and the collector's commentary; the English translation shows the Prophet's words only.
وَعَنْ أَبِي الْمَلِيحِ بْنِ أُسَامَةَ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: نَهَى عَنْ جُلُودِ السِّبَاعِ. رَوَاهُ أَحْمَدُ وَأَبُو دَاوُدَ وَالنَّسَائِيّ وَزَاد التِّرْمِذِيّ والدارمي: أَن تفترش
Abul Malih b. Usama quoted his father as saying that the Prophet prohibited the use of the skins of beasts of prey.
Ahmad, Abu Dawud and Nasa’i transmitted it; and Tirmidhi and Darimi added that they may be used as rugs.
