Mishkat al-Masabih #515
Purification
The Arabic includes the chain of narration (sanad) and the collector's commentary; the English translation shows the Prophet's words only.
وَعَنْ عَائِشَةَ قَالَتْ: كُنْتُ إِذَا حِضْتُ نَزَلْتُ عَن الْمِثَال على الْحَصِير فَلم نقرب رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَلَمْ ندن مِنْهُ حَتَّى نطهر. رَوَاهُ أَبُو دَاوُد
‘A'isha said, “When I menstruated I left the bed and lay on the reed-mat and did not approach or come near God’s messenger till I was purified.”
Abu Dawud transmitted it.
