Mishkat al-Masabih #56
Faith
The Arabic includes the chain of narration (sanad) and the collector's commentary; the English translation shows the Prophet's words only.
وَعَن حُذَيْفَة قَالَ: إِنَّمَا كَانَ النِّفَاق عَلَى عَهْدِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَأَمَّا الْيَوْمَ فَإِنَّمَا هُوَ الْكفْر بعد الايمان. رَوَاهُ البُخَارِيّ
Hudhaifa said, “Hypocrisy existed only in the time of God’s messenger, whereas to-day there are only unbelief and faith.”
Bukhari transmitted it.
