Musnad Ahmad #807

It was narrated from `Ali (رضي الله عنه) that The Prophet (ﷺ) said: “And instead (of thanking Allah) for the provision He gives you, you deny (Him by disbelief)` : you say, ‘We were given rain by such-and-such a star.” It was narrated from `Ali, in a marfoo’ report: `And instead (of thanking Allah) for the provision He gives you` . Muʼammal said: I said to Sufyan: Isra`eel narrated it in a marfoo` report (i.e., attributed to the Prophet (ﷺ). He said: Boys, boys.
