Musnad 'Ali Ibn Abi Talib

حَدَّثَنَا هَاشِمٌ، حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ، عَنْ عَاصِمِ بْنِ كُلَيْبٍ، قَالَ سَمِعْتُ أَبَا بُرْدَةَ، يُحَدِّثُ عَنْ عَلِيٍّ، رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ نَهَى أَنْ يُتَخَتَّمَ فِي ذِهِ أَوْ ذِهْ الْوُسْطَى وَالسَّبَّابَةِ و قَالَ جَابِرٌ يَعْنِي الْجُعَفِيَّ هِيَ الْوُسْطَى لَا شَكَّ فِيهَا‏.‏
It was narrated from `Ali (رضي الله عنه) that The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) forbade wearing rings on this or this - the middle finger and the index finger, Jabir - i.e., al-Ju`fi - said: It is the middle finger, no doubt about it.
