Funerals (Al-Janaa'iz)

حَدَّثَنَا قَبِيصَةُ بْنُ عُقْبَةَ، حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ، عَنْ خَالِدٍ الْحَذَّاءِ، عَنْ أُمِّ الْهُذَيْلِ، عَنْ أُمِّ عَطِيَّةَ ـ رضى الله عنها ـ قَالَتْ نُهِينَا عَنِ اتِّبَاعِ الْجَنَائِزِ، وَلَمْ يُعْزَمْ عَلَيْنَا‏.‏
We were forbidden to accompany funeral processions but not strictly.

وَعَلَى ٱلَّذِينَ هَادُوا۟ حَرَّمْنَا مَا قَصَصْنَا عَلَيْكَ مِن قَبْلُ ۖ وَمَا ظَلَمْنَٰهُمْ وَلَٰكِن كَانُوٓا۟ أَنفُسَهُمْ يَظْلِمُونَ
And to those who are Jews We have prohibited that which We related to you before. And We did not wrong them [thereby], but they were wronging themselves.
سُورَةُ الشُّعَرَاءِ
Ash-Shu'araa (The Poets)
بِسْمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحْمَـٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ
2 ayahs
وَمَا يَنۢبَغِى لَهُمْ وَمَا يَسْتَطِيعُونَ
It is not allowable for them, nor would they be able.
وَمَا نَحْنُ بِمُعَذَّبِينَ
And we are not to be punished."
