Virtues of the Qur'an
Sahih

The Arabic includes the chain of narration (sanad) and the collector's commentary; the English translation shows the Prophet's words only.

Those Suras which you people call the Mufassal, are the Muhkam. And Ibn `Abbas said, "Allah's Apostle died when I was a boy of ten years, and I had learnt the Muhkam (of the Qur'an).

This highlights the importance of education and the transmission of knowledge among the companions. The term 'Muhkam' refers to the clear and decisive verses of the Quran, which are vital for understanding Islamic teachings.

Modern Application

This hadith serves as a reminder of the value of early education in religious studies. Today, it encourages parents and educators to instill a love for the Quran in children from a young age, ensuring the continuity of knowledge and understanding.

Topics

It is He who has sent down to you, [O Muhammad], the Book; in it are verses [that are] precise - they are the foundation of the Book - and others unspecific. As for those in whose hearts is deviation [from truth], they will follow that of it which is unspecific, seeking discord and seeking an interpretation [suitable to them]. And no one knows its [true] interpretation except Allah. But those firm in knowledge say, "We believe in it. All [of it] is from our Lord." And no one will be reminded except those of understanding.
