وَحَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ، حَدَّثَنَا غُنْدَرٌ، عَنْ شُعْبَةَ، ح وَحَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْمُثَنَّى، وَابْنُ بَشَّارٍ قَالاَ حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ، حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ، عَنِ الْحَكَمِ، عَنْ مُجَاهِدٍ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صلى الله عليه وسلم أَنَّهُ قَالَ ‏ "‏ نُصِرْتُ بِالصَّبَا وَأُهْلِكَتْ عَادٌ بِالدَّبُورِ ‏"‏ ‏.‏
I have been helped by the east wind and the 'Ad were destroyed by the west wind.
Narrated by Ibn 'Abbas reported Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) as saying:

Context

And in 'Aad [was a sign], when We sent against them the barren wind.
سُورَةُ المُرۡسَلَاتِ
Al-Mursalaat (The Emissaries)
بِسْمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحْمَـٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ
2 ayahs
وَٱلْمُرْسَلَٰتِ عُرْفًۭا
By those [winds] sent forth in gusts
فَٱلْعَٰصِفَٰتِ عَصْفًۭا
And the winds that blow violently
سُورَةُ صٓ
Saad (The letter Saad)
بِسْمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحْمَـٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ
1 ayah
فَسَخَّرْنَا لَهُ ٱلرِّيحَ تَجْرِى بِأَمْرِهِۦ رُخَآءً حَيْثُ أَصَابَ
So We subjected to him the wind blowing by his command, gently, wherever he directed,
