The Bread Of Rasoolullah

حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ مُعَاوِيَةَ الْجُمَحِيُّ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا ثَابِتُ بْنُ يَزِيدَ، عَنْ هِلاَلِ بْنِ خَبَّابٍ، عَنْ عِكْرِمَةَ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ، قَالَ: كَانَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم، يَبِيتُ اللَّيَالِيَ الْمُتَتَابِعَةَ طَاوِيًا هُوَ وَأَهْلُهُ، لا يَجِدُونُ عِشَاءً وَكَانَ أَكْثَرُ خُبْزِهِمْ، خُبْزَ الشَّعِيرِ.
Ibn 'Abbas said: "Allah’s Messenger (Allah bless him and give him peace) used to spend night after night starving. He and his family would not have any supper to eat, and most of their bread was barley-bread.”
