Sunan Abu Dawud #4759

Model Behavior of the Prophet (Kitab Al-Sunnah)
Da'if

The Arabic includes the chain of narration (sanad) and the collector's commentary; the English translation shows the Prophet's words only.

The Messenger of Allah (May peace be upon him) stood among the people and praised Allah in a way which is worthy of him, and mentioned the Antichrist (Dajjal), saying : I warn you of him, and there has been no prophet who has not warned his people about him, and Noah also warned his people about him. But I tell you about him a word which no Prophet had told his people : you should know that he will be blind in one eye, and Allah is not blind is one eye.
Narrated by Ibn Umar reported:

Context

In this hadith, the Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ) warns his followers about the Dajjal, a significant figure in Islamic eschatology. He emphasizes that every prophet has warned their people about the Dajjal, but he provides a unique detail: the Dajjal will be blind in one eye, contrasting with Allah, who is not blind. This warning serves to prepare the community for recognizing and resisting falsehood.

Modern Application

In today's world, the principle of being vigilant against deception remains relevant. Just as the Prophet (ﷺ) warned about the Dajjal, individuals are encouraged to seek knowledge and discern truth from falsehood in various aspects of life, including media, relationships, and personal beliefs.

Topics

This hadith is tagged with Prophetic Warning because it serves as a direct caution from the Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ) to his followers regarding the dangers of the Dajjal.
