حَدَّثَنَا عُبَيْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ عُمَرَ بْنِ مَيْسَرَةَ، حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادُ بْنُ زَيْدٍ، حَدَّثَنَا سَلْمٌ الْعَلَوِيُّ، عَنْ أَنَسٍ، أَنَّ رَجُلاً، دَخَلَ عَلَى رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم وَعَلَيْهِ أَثَرُ صُفْرَةٍ - وَكَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم قَلَّمَا يُوَاجِهُ رَجُلاً فِي وَجْهِهِ بِشَىْءٍ يَكْرَهُهُ - فَلَمَّا خَرَجَ قَالَ ‏ "‏ لَوْ أَمَرْتُمْ هَذَا أَنْ يَغْسِلَ ذَا عَنْهُ ‏"‏ ‏.‏ قَالَ أَبُو دَاوُدَ سَلْمٌ لَيْسَ هُوَ عَلَوِيًّا كَانَ يُبْصِرُ فِي النُّجُومِ وَشَهِدَ عِنْدَ عَدِيِّ بْنِ أَرْطَاةَ عَلَى رُؤْيَةِ الْهِلاَلِ فَلَمْ يُجِزْ شَهَادَتَهُ ‏.‏

A man who had the mark of yellowness on him came to the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ). The apostle of Allah (ﷺ) rarely mentioned anything of a man which he disliked before him. When he went out, he said: Would that you asked him to wash it from him. Abu Dawud said: Salam is not 'Alawi (from the descendants of 'Ali). He used to foretell events by stars. He bore witness before 'Abi b. Arafat to the visibility of moon, but he did not accept his witness.

And when the bearer of good tidings arrived, he cast it over his face, and he returned [once again] seeing. He said, "Did I not tell you that I know from Allah that which you do not know?"

سُورَةُ البَيِّنَةِ

Al-Bayyina (The Evidence)

بِسْمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحْمَـٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ

رَسُولٌۭ مِّنَ ٱللَّهِ يَتْلُوا۟ صُحُفًۭا مُّطَهَّرَةًۭ

A Messenger from Allah, reciting purified scriptures

سُورَةُ النِّسَاءِ

An-Nisaa (The Women)

بِسْمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحْمَـٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ

وَمَآ أَرْسَلْنَا مِن رَّسُولٍ إِلَّا لِيُطَاعَ بِإِذْنِ ٱللَّهِ ۚ وَلَوْ أَنَّهُمْ إِذ ظَّلَمُوٓا۟ أَنفُسَهُمْ جَآءُوكَ فَٱسْتَغْفَرُوا۟ ٱللَّهَ وَٱسْتَغْفَرَ لَهُمُ ٱلرَّسُولُ لَوَجَدُوا۟ ٱللَّهَ تَوَّابًۭا رَّحِيمًۭا

And We did not send any messenger except to be obeyed by permission of Allah. And if, when they wronged themselves, they had come to you, [O Muhammad], and asked forgiveness of Allah and the Messenger had asked forgiveness for them, they would have found Allah Accepting of repentance and Merciful.
