Prayer (Kitab Al-Salat)
Da'if

The Arabic includes the chain of narration (sanad) and the collector's commentary; the English translation shows the Prophet's words only.

I heard the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) say: One of the signs of the Last Hour will be that people in a mosque will refuse to act as imam and will not find an imam to lead them in prayer.
Narrated by Narrated Sulamah daughter of al-Hurr:

Context

Sulamah, the daughter of al-Hurr, narrates a hadith where the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ foretold a sign of the Last Hour: people in mosques will struggle to find an imam to lead them in prayer. This reflects a potential decline in community engagement and leadership within the religious context, emphasizing the need for strong communal ties and leadership.

Modern Application

In today's context, this hadith serves as a reminder for communities to foster leadership and participation in prayer. It encourages individuals to step up and take initiative in leading prayers, ensuring that the community remains united in worship.

Topics

This hadith is tagged with Prayer and Signs of the Hour because it discusses the conditions of prayer leadership as a sign of societal changes as indicated by the Prophet ﷺ.
