He said ‘O my son do not relate your vision to your brothers lest they plot against you some plot lest they scheme to kill you out of envy knowing that the interpretation of the dream is that they represent the eleven planets your mother the sun and your father the moon. Truly Satan is to man a manifest foe one of evident enmity.

“If anyone of you has a bad dream, he should not tell people about how Satan played with him in his dream.”

Sunan Ibn Majah #3648It was narrated that Jabir said:Sahih

“A man came to the Prophet (ﷺ) when he was delivering a sermon and said: ‘O Messenger of Allah! Last night in my dream I saw my neck being struck and my head fell off, and I chased it, picked it up and put it back.’ The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: ‘If Satan plays with any one of you in his dreams, he should not tell people about it.’”

The Prophet (ﷺ) said: The vision flutters over a man as long as it is not interpreted , but when it is interpreted, it settles. And I think he said: Tell it only to one who loves (i.e. friend) or one who has judgment.

Sahih Muslim #5775Jabir reported that there came to Allah's Apostle (ﷺ) a desert Arab and said:Sahih

Allah's Messenger, I saw in the state of sleep as if my head had been cut off and I had been moving on haltingly after it. Thereupon Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) said to that desert Arab: Do not narrate to the people the vain sporting of satan with you in your sleep and (the narrator) also said: I heard Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) in his subsequent address: None amongst you should narrate the vain sporting of devil with him in the dream.

Jami` at-Tirmidhi #3537Abu Sa’eed Al-Khudri narrated that:Da'if

He heard the Prophet saying: “When one of you sees a dream that he likes, then it is from Allah, so let him praise Allah for it, and speak concerning what he saw. And when he sees other than that of what he dislikes, then it is from Shaitan, so let him seek refuge in Allah from its evil, and not mention it to anyone for, surely, it shall not harm him.”
