He said ‘Do you give me good tidings of a boy when old age has befallen me?’ ‘alā an massaniya l-kibaru is a circumstantial qualifier in other words despite the fact of its having befallen me? So of what thing do you give me good tidings?’ an interrogative meant to indicate amazement.

"I saw Ibn Umar and he mentioned something similar, except he said: "and I am an old man."

Jami` at-Tirmidhi #2385Anas bin Malik narrated that a man among his companions was dying so he said- meaning a man said to him:Da'if

"Glad tidings of Paradise." To which the Messenger of Allah (s.a.w) said: "You do not know. Perhaps he spoke of what did not concern him or he was greedy with that which would not decrease him."

Jami` at-Tirmidhi #3381Abu Ishaq narrated from Ikrimah, from Ibn Abbas who said:Da'if

“Abu Bakr said: ‘O Messenger of Allah! You have become gray.’ He said: ‘I have gone gray from (Surat) Hud, Al-Waqi`ah, Al-Mursalat and `Amma Yatasa'alun and Idhash-Shamsu Kuwwirat.’”

Sahih Muslim #3299Rabi' b. S'abra al-jahanni reported on the authority of his father. We went with Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) to Mecca during the year of Victory and he narrated like this a hadith transmitted by Bishr (the previous one) but with this addition:Sahih

" She said: Can it be possible?" And it is also mentioned in it:" He said: The cloak of this (man) is old and worn out."

Sunan Ibn Majah #4104It was narrated that 'Abdur-Rahman bin Abi Laila said:Da'if

We said to Zaid bin Arqam: 'Tell us a Hadith from the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ).' He said: 'We have grown old and have forgotten, and (narrating) Ahadith from the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) is difficult (not a simple matter).'"
