And they his people say ‘If we were to follow the Guidance with you we will be deprived from our land’ torn out of it swiftly. God exalted be He says Have We not established for them a secure Sanctuary one in which they are secure from the raids and killings that occur among the Arab tribes to which are brought read tujbā or yujbā fruits of all kinds fruits from every direction as a provision for them from Us? But most of them do not know that what We say is the truth.

We said to the Prophet, "You send us out and it happens that we have to stay with people who do not entertain us. What do you think about it? He said to us, "If you stay with some people and they entertain you as they should for a guest, accept their hospitality, but if they don't, take the right of the guest from them."

Sahih Muslim #3824Hanzala reported that he heard Rafi' b. Khadij (Allah be pleased with him) say:Sahih

We were the major agriculturists of the Ansar and so we let out land (saying): The produce of this (part of land) would be ours and (the produce) of that would be theirs. But it so happened that at times this (land) gave harvest, but the other one produced nothing. So he (the Holy Prophet) forbade this. But so far as the payment in silver (dirham, a coin) is concerned, he did not forbid.

Sahih Muslim #3838Ibn Umar reported that 'Umar b. al-Khattab (Allah be pleased with him) expelled the Jews and Christians from the land of Hijaz, and that when Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) conquered Khaibar he made up his mind to expel the Jews from it (the territory of Khaibar) because, when that land was conquered, it came under the sway of Allah, that of His Messenger (ﷺ) and that of the Muslims. The jews asked Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) to let them continue there on the condition that they would work on it, and would get in turn half of the fruit (of the trees), whereupon Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) said:Sahih

We would let you continue there so long as we will desire. So they continued (to cultivate the lands) till 'Umar externed them to Taima' ang Ariha (two villages in Arabia, but out of Hijaz).

We used to work on the fields more than the other Ansar, and we used to rent the land (for the yield of a specific portion of it). But sometimes that portion or the rest of the land did not give any yield, so we were forbidden (by the Prophet (ﷺ) ) to follow such a system, but we were allowed to rent the land for money.
