Only those believe in Our signs such as the Qur’ān who when they are reminded of them admonished with them fall down in prostration and make glorifications ensconced in praise of their Lord in other words they say ‘Glory be to God through His praise’ subhāna’Llāh wa-bi-hāmdihi and they do not disdain to believe and to obey.

The verse “And the poets it is those straying in evil who follow them. He (Allah) then abrogated it and made an exception saying: Except those who believe and work righteousness, engage much in the remembrance of Allah."

When we recite the verses of Sajda (during the sermon) whoever prostrates does the right thing, yet it is no sin for the one who does not prostrate." And `Umar did not prostrate (that day). Added Ibn `Umar "Allah has not made the prostration of recitation compulsory but if we wish we can do it."
