The moon was split (into two pieces).
"The moon was split during the time of the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ). So the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: 'Bear witness.'"
Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) came out to us on the night of the full moon and said, "You will see your Lord on the
Day of Resurrection as you see this (full moon) and you will have no difficulty in seeing Him."
We were talking about Lailat-ul-Qadr in the presence of the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) and he said: He who amongst you remembers (the night) when the moon arose and it was like a piece of plate (at the fag end of the month in a state of waning).
"The moon was cleft asunder during the time of the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ), so the Prophet (ﷺ) said to us: 'Bear witness.'"
