Attributes of the Servants of the Most Gracious

سُورَةُ الفُرۡقَانِ
Al-Furqaan (The Criterion)
بِسْمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحْمَـٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ
5 ayahs
وَعِبَادُ ٱلرَّحْمَٰنِ ٱلَّذِينَ يَمْشُونَ عَلَى ٱلْأَرْضِ هَوْنًۭا وَإِذَا خَاطَبَهُمُ ٱلْجَٰهِلُونَ قَالُوا۟ سَلَٰمًۭا
And the servants of the Most Merciful are those who walk upon the earth easily, and when the ignorant address them [harshly], they say [words of] peace,
وَٱلَّذِينَ يَبِيتُونَ لِرَبِّهِمْ سُجَّدًۭا وَقِيَٰمًۭا
And those who spend [part of] the night to their Lord prostrating and standing [in prayer]
وَٱلَّذِينَ يَقُولُونَ رَبَّنَا ٱصْرِفْ عَنَّا عَذَابَ جَهَنَّمَ ۖ إِنَّ عَذَابَهَا كَانَ غَرَامًا
And those who say, "Our Lord, avert from us the punishment of Hell. Indeed, its punishment is ever adhering;
إِنَّهَا سَآءَتْ مُسْتَقَرًّۭا وَمُقَامًۭا
Indeed, it is evil as a settlement and residence."
وَٱلَّذِينَ إِذَآ أَنفَقُوا۟ لَمْ يُسْرِفُوا۟ وَلَمْ يَقْتُرُوا۟ وَكَانَ بَيْنَ ذَٰلِكَ قَوَامًۭا
And [they are] those who, when they spend, do so not excessively or sparingly but are ever, between that, [justly] moderate

Sahih Muslim#6676

" Our Lord, grant us the good in this world and the good in the Hereafter and save us from the torment of Hell Fire."

Narrated by Anas reported that Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) used to supplicate (in these words):
Sunan Abu Dawud#1322

(This verse means) the prayer and vigil at night.

Narrated by Anas b. Malik said (explaining the meaning of the Qur'anic verse "Who forsake their beds to cry unto their Lord in fear and hope, and spend of what We have bestowed on them" (32:16). The people used to remain awake between the sunset and the night prayers and would pray. Al-Hasan used to say:
Sunan an-Nasa'i#2214

"Whoever fasts it and spends its nights in prayer out of faith and in the hope of reward." (Daif)

Narrated by A similar report was narrated from Abu Salamah and he said:
Sunan an-Nasa'i#1792

"Whoever goes to his bed intending to get up and pray qiyam at night, then sleep overwhelms him until morning, will have recorded that which he intended and his sleep is a charity given to him by his ...

Narrated by It was narrated from Abu Ad-Darda' who attributed it to the Prophet (ﷺ):
Sunan Ibn Majah#1069

‘When a man wakes up at night and wakes his wife, and they pray two Rak’ah, they will be recorded among the men and women who remember Allah much.”

Narrated by It was narrated that Abu Sa’eed and Abu Hurairah said that the Prophet (ﷺ) said:
Sunan an-Nasa'i#2205

"Whoever spends the nights of Ramadan n prayer (Qiyam) out of faith and in the hope of reward, he will be forgiven his previous sins." '

Narrated by It was narrated from Abu Hurairah that the Messenger of Allah said:

“Whoever goes to bed intending to wake up and pray during the night, but is overwhelmed by sleep until morning comes, what he intended will be recorded for him, and his sleep is a charity given to him...

Narrated by It was narrated that Abu Darda’ conveyed that the Prophet (ﷺ) said:
Sunan Ibn Majah#1516

“Whoever spends the nights of the two ‘Eid in praying voluntary prayers, seeking reward from Allah, his heart will not die on the Day when hearts will die.”

Narrated by It was narrated from Abu Umamah that the Prophet (ﷺ) said:
Sunan an-Nasa'i#2204

"Whoever spends the nights of Ramadan in prayer (Qiyam) out of faith and in the hope of reward, he will be forgiven his previous sins." '

Narrated by It was narrated from Abu Hurairah that the Messenger of Allah said:
Sunan an-Nasa'i#2196

"Whoever spends the nights of Ramadan in prayer (Qiyam) out of faith and in the hope of reward, he will be forgiven his previous sins." '

Narrated by It was narrated from Saeed bin Al-Musayyab that the Messenger of Allah said:
