Tafsir Al-Jalalayn: Ar-Ra'd, Ayah 29

Ar-Ra'd · Ayah 29 · View Ayah
ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ وَعَمِلُوا۟ ٱلصَّٰلِحَٰتِ طُوبَىٰ لَهُمْ وَحُسْنُ مَـَٔابٍۢ
Those who have believed and done righteous deeds - a good state is theirs and a good return.

Al-Jalalayn Commentary

those who believe and perform righteous deeds alladhīna āmanū wa-‘amilū’l-sālihāt is the subject the predicate of which is the following theirs shall be blessedness tūbā is a verbal noun derived from tīb ‘goodness’ or the name of a tree in Paradise whose shade a mounted traveller travelling for 100 years would still not traverse and a fair resort a fair place to return to.

(Those who believe) in Muhammad (pbuh) and in the Qur'an (and do right) acts of worship such none is aware of them except Allah: (Joy is for them) blessedness is for them; it is also said that this refers to a tree in Paradise, the trunk of which is made of gold and the leaves of vestments, the fruits of different colours and whose branches are in succession in Paradise, and under which are dunes of musk, ambergris and saffron, (and bliss (their) journey's end) Paradise is their returning place.
