(And he had no troop of men to help him as against Allah) i.e. against Allah's punishment, (nor could he save himself) from Allah's punishment.

You have not power enough to undergo the torment imposed by Allah. And there is no mention of: He supplicated Allah for him and He cured him.
“I had built a house to shelter me from the rain and the sun, during the time of Allah’s Messenger (ﷺ), and no creature of Allah helped me in building it.”
There was no other mu'adhdhin of the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ). He then narrated the tradition which is incomplete.
During one of the Ghazawat in which Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) was fighting, none remained with the Prophet (ﷺ) but Talha and Sa`d.

There was no other mu'adhdhin (pronouncer) of the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) except Bilal. The narrator then reported the tradition to the same effect.
"The Messenger of Allah died when no one was with him except me." She said: "And he called for a vessel."
`Uthman said that on the day of the battle of Uhud, none remained with the Prophet (ﷺ) but Talha and Sa`d.
Al-Jalalayn Commentary
But there was no read takun or yakun party no persons to help him besides God at the moment of its destruction nor could he help himself at the moment of its destruction all by himself.
