وَقَالُوا۟ مَا لَنَا لَا نَرَىٰ رِجَالًۭا كُنَّا نَعُدُّهُم مِّنَ ٱلْأَشْرَارِ
And they will say, "Why do we not see men whom we used to count among the worst?

(And they say: What aileth us that we behold not) in the Fire (men) meaning the poor among the believers (whom we were wont to count among the wicked) whom we counted among the lowly and paupers?
Al-Jalalayn Commentary
And they the disbelievers of Mecca say while they are in the Fire ‘What is the matter with us that we do not see here men whom we used to count in the world among the wicked?
