Tafsir Al-Jalalayn: An-Nisaa, Ayah 30

An-Nisaa · Ayah 30 · View Ayah
وَمَن يَفْعَلْ ذَٰلِكَ عُدْوَٰنًۭا وَظُلْمًۭا فَسَوْفَ نُصْلِيهِ نَارًۭا ۚ وَكَانَ ذَٰلِكَ عَلَى ٱللَّهِ يَسِيرًا
And whoever does that in aggression and injustice - then We will drive him into a Fire. And that, for Allah, is [always] easy.

Al-Jalalayn Commentary

And whoever does that which he has been forbidden through aggression ‘udwānan a circumstantial qualifier transgressing what is lawful and injustice zulman reiterated for emphasis him We shall certainly expose admit to a fire wherein he shall burn; and that for God is an easy matter.

Scholars offer complementary perspectives

(Whoso doeth that) killing another or wrongfully taking another person's property (through aggression and injustice, We shall cast him into Fire) in the Hereafter; this is a threat to such a person, (and that) casting him into the Fire and tormenting him (is ever easy for Allah).

Narrated by Sa'd b. Abu Waqqas reported Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) as saying:

He who intends to do harm to the people of this city (that is, Medina), Allah would efface him as salt is dissolved in water.

Narrated by Abu Huraira (Allah be pleased with him) reported that Abul-Qasim (Muhammad, may peace be upon him) said:

He who intends to do harm to its people (he meant Medina), Allah would efface him as salt is dissolved in water. Ibn Hatim (one of the narrators) substituted the word" harm" for" mischief".

Narrated by Abu Huraira reported Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) as saying:

“It is easy for the elite of Banu Luai – To burn Al-Buwairah in a Frightening manner.”

Narrated by It was narrated from Ibn ‘Umar that the Prophet (ﷺ) burned the palm trees of Banu Nadir and cut them down. Concerning that, their poet said:
