تَظُنُّ أَن يُفْعَلَ بِهَا فَاقِرَةٌۭ

Expecting that there will be done to them [something] backbreaking.

Al-Jalalayn Commentary

certain that a spine-crushing calamity will fall on them a great catastrophe one that ‘crushes the spine’ fiqār.

Scholars offer diverse perspectives

(Thou wilt know) those faces will know (that some great disaster is about to fall on them) a severe and horrible punishment is about to befall them.

as above, saying, "He should pay the price in advance for a specified measure and for a specified period."
