Tafsir Ibn Abbas: Ash-Shu'araa, Ayah 215

وَٱخْفِضْ جَنَاحَكَ لِمَنِ ٱتَّبَعَكَ مِنَ ٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَ

And lower your wing to those who follow you of the believers.

Ibn Abbas Commentary

(And lower thy wing (in kindness) unto those believers who follow thee) be kind to the believers.

Scholars offer diverse perspectives

And lower your wing show your gentle side to the believers the affirmers of God’s Oneness who follow you.

“When you lead people, keep it short for them.”
