Tafsir Ibn Abbas: Al-A'raaf, Ayah 97
أَفَأَمِنَ أَهْلُ ٱلْقُرَىٰٓ أَن يَأْتِيَهُم بَأْسُنَا بَيَٰتًۭا وَهُمْ نَآئِمُونَ
Then, did the people of the cities feel secure from Our punishment coming to them at night while they were asleep?

(Are the people of the townships) the people of Mecca (then secure from the coming of Our wrath) Our punishment, (upon them as a night-raid while they sleep) and are completely unaware of it?
