إِنَّهُۥ فَكَّرَ وَقَدَّرَ

Indeed, he thought and deliberated.

Ibn Abbas Commentary

(For lo! He) i.e. al-Walid Ibn al-Mughirah (did consider) within himself the matter of Muhammad (pbuh); (then he planned) to say that he is a wizard

Scholars offer diverse perspectives

Indeed he pondered what to say about the Qur’ān which he heard from the Prophet s and decided this in his mind.

" The best condiment." And he did not doubt (about this word).
