An-Naazi'aat · Ayah 40 · View Ayah
وَأَمَّا مَنْ خَافَ مَقَامَ رَبِّهِۦ وَنَهَى ٱلنَّفْسَ عَنِ ٱلْهَوَىٰ
But as for he who feared the position of his Lord and prevented the soul from [unlawful] inclination,

Ibn Abbas Commentary

(But as for him who feared) upon committing a sin (to stand before his Lord) his standing before his Lord and abstains from engaging in sin (and restrained his soul from lust) from that which is unlawful, even though he desires it, this refers to Mus'ab Ibn 'Umayr.

Narrated by It was narrated from ‘Atiyyah As-Sa’di, who was one of the Companions of the Prophet (ﷺ), that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said:

"The servant shall not reach the state of being among the Muttaqin until he leaves what there is no harm in out of caution for its harm."

Narrated by Rabi'ah bin Yazid and 'Atiyyah bin Qais narrated from 'Atiyyah As-Sa'di - and he was one of the Companions of the Prophet (ﷺ) - that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said:

Narrated by This hadith has been narrated on the authority of Mainsur with the same chain of transmitters (and the words are):

He who disapproves is guiltless, and he who disapproves is safe. Qatadah said : it means one who feels its disapproval in his heart, and one who expresses disapproval in his heart.
