Tafsir Ibn Abbas: Al-A'laa, Ayah 13

ثُمَّ لَا يَمُوتُ فِيهَا وَلَا يَحْيَىٰ

Neither dying therein nor living.

Ibn Abbas Commentary

(Wherein) in the Fire (he will neither die) and thus be put out of his misery (nor live) a beneficial life.

Scholars offer complementary perspectives

then he will neither die therein and find rest nor live a enjoyable life.

Dying in a strange land is martyrdom.”

Do not make anything having life as a target.
