سُورَةُ المَعَارِجِ
Al-Ma'aarij (The Ascending Stairways)
بِسْمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحْمَـٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ
7 ayahs
سَأَلَ سَآئِلٌۢ بِعَذَابٍۢ وَاقِعٍۢ
A supplicant asked for a punishment bound to happen
لِّلْكَٰفِرِينَ لَيْسَ لَهُۥ دَافِعٌۭ
To the disbelievers; of it there is no preventer.
مِّنَ ٱللَّهِ ذِى ٱلْمَعَارِجِ
[It is] from Allah, owner of the ways of ascent.
تَعْرُجُ ٱلْمَلَٰٓئِكَةُ وَٱلرُّوحُ إِلَيْهِ فِى يَوْمٍۢ كَانَ مِقْدَارُهُۥ خَمْسِينَ أَلْفَ سَنَةٍۢ
The angels and the Spirit will ascend to Him during a Day the extent of which is fifty thousand years.
فَٱصْبِرْ صَبْرًۭا جَمِيلًا
So be patient with gracious patience.
إِنَّهُمْ يَرَوْنَهُۥ بَعِيدًۭا
Indeed, they see it [as] distant,
وَنَرَىٰهُ قَرِيبًۭا
But We see it [as] near.

Ayah 5

So be patient — this was revealed before he the Prophet was commanded to fight — with a graceful patience that is one in which there is no anguish.

Ayah 6

Lo! they see it that is the chastisement as being far off as never taking place;

Ayah 7

while We see it to be near taking place without a doubt.

Narrated by Anas reported that Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) visited a person from amongst the Muslims in order to inquire (about his health) who had grown feeble like the chicken. Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) said:
