سُورَةُ الأَعۡلَىٰ
Al-A'laa (The Most High)
بِسْمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحْمَـٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ
6 ayahs
قَدْ أَفْلَحَ مَن تَزَكَّىٰ
He has certainly succeeded who purifies himself
وَذَكَرَ ٱسْمَ رَبِّهِۦ فَصَلَّىٰ
And mentions the name of his Lord and prays.
بَلْ تُؤْثِرُونَ ٱلْحَيَوٰةَ ٱلدُّنْيَا
But you prefer the worldly life,
وَٱلْءَاخِرَةُ خَيْرٌۭ وَأَبْقَىٰٓ
While the Hereafter is better and more enduring.
إِنَّ هَٰذَا لَفِى ٱلصُّحُفِ ٱلْأُولَىٰ
Indeed, this is in the former scriptures,
صُحُفِ إِبْرَٰهِيمَ وَمُوسَىٰ
The scriptures of Abraham and Moses.

Successful winner indeed is he who purifies himself who cleanses himself by means of his adherence to faith

and mentions the Name of his Lord saying Allāhu akbar ‘God is Great’ and prays the five prayers — and such are the concerns of one working towards the Hereafter concerns which the Meccan disbelievers ...

Nay but you prefer or read yu’thirūna ‘they prefer’ the life of this world to the Hereafter

Ayah 17

whereas the Hereafter and the Paradise it entails is better and more lasting.

Truly this the success of those who purify themselves and the Hereafter being better is in the former scrolls the ones revealed before the Qur’ān

the scrolls of Abraham and Moses the ten scrolls of Abraham and the Torah of Moses.

"He has asked Allah using His Greatest Name."

Narrated by The aforesaid tradition has been transmitted through a different chain of narrators by Malik b. Mighwal. This verso adds:

Narrated by This hadith has been narrated on the authority of Ubaidullah b. Umar with the same chain of transmitters and he said:

Narrated by This hadith is also narrated on the authority with the same chain of transmitters and in the hadith of Abu Usama the words are:

“He has succeeded who is guided to Islam and is granted sufficient provision and is content with it.”

Narrated by It was narrated from ‘Abdullah bin ‘Amr bin ‘As that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said:
Sunan Ibn Majah#622Da'if

“Subhana Rabbiyal-‘Azim (Glory is to my Lord, the Most Great)” three times, and when he prostrated he said: “Subhana Rabbiyal-A’la (Glory is to my Lord the Most High)” three times.

Narrated by It was narrated from Hudhaifah bin Al-Yaman that he heard the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) say when he bowed:

he performed Salat with the Prophet, and that while he was bowing he would say: (Subhana Rabbiyal Azim); "Glorious is my Lord the Magnificent" and while prostrating: (Subhana Rabbiyal A'la) 'Glorious ...

Narrated by Hudhaifah narrated that :
Sunan Ibn Majah#1359Sahih

“The prayer, and those whom your hands possess.”* And he kept on saying it until his tongue could no longer utter any words.

Narrated by It was narrated from Umm Salamah that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) used to say, during the illness that would be his last:

Narrated by Muhammad bin Juhadah reported from Zubaid, Sa'eed bin 'Abdur-Rahman bin Abza, from his father, who said:
