The Book of Prayer
The Arabic includes the chain of narration (sanad) and the collector's commentary; the English translation shows the Prophet's words only.
وَعَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ رَضِيَ اَللَّهُ عَنْهُمَا قَالَ: { مَا هَبَّتْ رِيحٌ قَطُّ إِلَّا جَثَا اَلنَّبِيُّ - صلى الله عليه وسلم -عَلَى رُكْبَتَيْهِ, وَقَالَ:
"اَللَّهُمَّ اجْعَلْهَا رَحْمَةً, وَلَا تَجْعَلَهَا عَذَابًا" } رَوَاهُ اَلشَّافِعِيُّ وَالطَّبَرَانِيُّ 1 .1 - ضعيف. رواه الشافعي في "المسند" (1/175/502) وفي "الأم" (1/253)، والطبراني في "الكبير" (11/213-214/11533)، وفي "الدعاء" (977) من طريق عكرمة، عن ابن عباس. ولكن لم يأت عن عكرمة إلا من طريق ضعيف أو متروك.
Narrated Ibn 'Abbas (RA): No wind ever blew without the Prophet (ﷺ) getting down on his knees and saying, "O Allah, make it a mercy and do not make it a punishment."
