The Book of Prayer
The Arabic includes the chain of narration (sanad) and the collector's commentary; the English translation shows the Prophet's words only.
وَعَنْهُ: { أَنَّهُ صَلَّى فِي زَلْزَلَةٍ سِتَّ رَكَعَاتٍ, وَأَرْبَعَ سَجَدَاتٍ, وَقَالَ: هَكَذَا صَلَاةُ اَلْآيَاتِ } رَوَاهُ اَلْبَيْهَقِيُّ 1 .1 - صحيح. رواه البيهقي في "الكبرى" (3/343) وقال: "هو عن ابن عباس ثابت". قلت: في سنده محمد بن الحسين القطان، كذبه ابن ناجية، وقال الدارقطني: ليس به بأس وقال الحافظ في "اللسان": روى عنه ابن عدي عدة أحاديث يخالف في أسانيدها. ولكن رواه ابن أبي شيبة في "المصنف" (2/472) بسند صحيح؛ أن ابن عباس صلى بهم في زلزلة كانت أربع سجدات فيها، وست ركوعات.
Narrated : He prayed during an earthquake six bowings and four prostrations, and said, "This is the way the Prayer of the Signs (of Allah) is offered.
